Of all the toys and sex aids I have tried since my erections got less solid, the Tenuto 2 vibrator is the best at engaging my whole pelvis in sexual pleasure. I feel like it treats me as more than just a penis. It is also an excellent way to enhance and support “semi” erections without the drawbacks of tighter cock rings. While there are some aspects that are still work-in-progress, I think many penis owners will enjoy this quality device.

It looks weird but it works

The first thing I noticed is the surprising shape. It is designed to fit around the base of the penis and reach all the way back to the perineum, with a space for your testicles to hang through the middle. The front part is a very sophisticated cock ring, including three separately controlled vibrators. It is flexible to accommodate varying girths, and medically shaped to press most in the places that retain erections.

The middle part is cool – basically it is designed to embrace and gently vibrate your testicles. For me it felt great but didn’t really hold my balls as well as I would have liked. During sex my balls sometimes got pulled up through the space designed for them to hang. It didn’t do any great harm but I felt the scrotum space needed to be either tighter or looser. I realise they are grappling with “one size fits all” but it could be fun if it kind of tugged at the scrotum a bit.

Back behind the wearer’s testicles, the longish tail of the Tenuto 2 is excellent. It has a vibrator right back there to stimulate your perineum. It will also externally stimulate your prostate if you still have one. For me, after prostate surgery, it really gets to the pleasure still available in my perineal area. If the device was snug to my body the vibrations also reached my anal area.

Together with the testicle and shaft massage it delivered a more holistic pleasure experience than other toys and rings.

Design for focused muscle vibration

The designers have written several journal articles promoting the use of focused muscle vibration, with a smallish amount of data supporting their claims. I don’t think it would be correct to describe it as a cure for ED, but for me it functions as an enhancer for weak or partial erections.

This device is really useful in supporting penis owners exploring pleasure regardless of the hardness of their erections. The vibration patters are variable and programmable.  The waves of vibration rising and falling in intensity and moving around my pelvic area were definitely arousing. And something about the intermittent vibrations felt healing.

The styling is a bit clunky, apparently because of the design requirement to have four really powerful rumbly vibration motors. I loved the strong rumbles enough to forgive them the clunky style – and I particularly liked the way the vibrations gave equal attention to my penis, my balls, my perineum and the large portion of the penile shaft that doesn’t stick out but runs under the perineum.

Waves of arousal

Using the Tenuto 2 is a very nice way of being reminded that sex for men is about more than just our penises. The device comes with 12 different vibration patterns, many of which feel like waves of arousal swirling around your genital area. And with the app, you can select more from a library and even design your own.

If you do decide to try this device, I encourage you to stay with it for a while. It takes time for many men and their partners to get over the penile focus of male sexuality. Using the Tenuto can help bridge the gap.

Pleasant for female partners

The Tenuto works for both partnered and solo play. My wife said she enjoyed the way the vibrations spread across her vulva during intercourse, and unlike some male toys she didn’t find any aspect distracting. She didn’t get direct clitoral stimulation from the toy so for her it was a mild kind of fun.

The app: work in progress

These days customers expect an app and indeed the Tenuto 2 comes with an app. In the case of Android phone users there is an extra quirk requiring a manual download which might prove daunting for some users. It’s something to do with changing Google Play standards, and manufacturers promise an update in due course.

When I got the app working, it remained a bit quirky but I liked that I could browse a library of vibration patterns on the phone while wearing the device. That meant I could feel the remarkable 3-D pleasure patterns evoked by each option before making my choices. The app can also function as a remote control for the device. Alternatively, there are also control buttons on the device for both vibration patterns and intensity.

Investing in research and pleasure

The Tenuto 2 is made by MV.Health, who offered and gave me this device to review. I am intrigued at the ways they are pushing the boundaries of medicine and science in an area that I believe really needs attention. They stand out by exploring muscle and pleasure pathways in both men and women in creative ways.

You can buy it direct from MV.Health. It is not cheap. The fact that it is FDA registered and FSA/HSA eligible might help some potential users in the USA.

Ultimately, it is more of an aid to deepening sexual pleasure than a quick masturbator.
