Invitation to join the conversation – live and interactive

So many stories

My own body changed fundamentally at age 60 when I was treated for prostate cancer. The sexual impact was that erections and orgasms became impossible for a few years, and then elusive and unreliable. My partner’s body went through lots of changes over the same period as she stopped taking hormone replacement (HRT). I felt devastated to lose access to the sexuality that had felt wired into my body from before puberty. Frustration started to tear at our relationship.

Yet we have remained intimate and sensual throughout, and over six years worked out new ways to be explosively sexual in our new bodies.

Different bodies, different lived experiences Throughout my healing process, I have hosted close to a hundred group conversations, mostly among men responding to loss and change in sexual function. I’ve talked in intimate detail with over 200 people of all genders and sexual orientations and levels of vanilla/kinkiness. I’ve sat with many in the pain of loss and confusion, and been inspired their discoveries of ways to have delicious sex when there is a soft or otherwise-different penis in the mix.

I believe it’s time to shed limiting beliefs about sex and erections and match our sex lives to our changing bodies and relationships. Overcoming barriers to frank and open talk enables our sexual creativity and deep needs for loving touch to flourish.

I invite you to spend an hour with me on 1 June at 12 noon Eastern time / 18h00 CET. I’ll share some of my own lived experience and some tips from my book Beyond Erections and create space for some conversation to emerge. You’re welcome if you’re over 18 and experiencing erectile differences in yourself or a partner, or know of loved ones in this situation.

Logistics If you click the button above, you will be taken to a secure credit card payment platform where you can enter the amount you are willing to pay for this event. Once your payment is complete you will receive your meeting details by email within one day from Mish.

Other ways to connect

Both my blog and my book offer more open conversations about erectile differences, and invite you to join in. While I encourage you to address any underlying medical issues with the appropriate doctor(s), my own contribution is not about cure but about thriving in your body the way it is. The book offers practical suggestions to adjust your mindset, re-engage in physical pleasure, and re-imagine orgasms. The Swell blog (below) creates a space for many voices to be heard – perhaps you would also like to share your story?

Away with shame

Bring erectile differences out of shameful secrecy. Liberate full body sexual creativity.

Not a quick fix

Introducing the new Swell Blog

Where you don’t have to be hard to have fun. And it isn’t always fun.

Discussing the undiscussable, part 1: name changes

My book was summarily ditched by Amazon ten days ago. It was only thanks to three trusty bricks-and-mortar booksellers, each with online portals, that it remained available from April 2nd until now. Here's the story of what it has taken to get global supplies flowing freely again. The story points to some of the many lessons to be learned about discussing socially awkward and undiscussable topics. The book [...]

Guest review: Gateway to much-needed conversations

Beyond Erections - Soft Cock Sex book review by TJ Beyond Erections (previously entitled Soft Cock Sex) is is one of the most impactful books I have read. As a woman, wife to a man, survivor of childhood sexual abuse (CSA) and a Psychotherapist I approached it with multiple levels of curiosity. Firstly, it was easy to read. He is factual, honest and even joyful about his [...]

Guest poem: I lie here on the couch expectantly

Joyful erotic exploration of erectile differences I publish this poem to celebrate John's attitude of joyful experimentation and playfulness, as well as unashamed erotic energy as he and his partner explore his new and differently-able body. This positive energy can be devastatingly absent from life with erectile differences. His  sense of fun invites us to enliven conversations about our situations as well as leading to new discoveries. [...]

Adapting sexually to body changes

A Soft Cock Sex / Beyond Erections reader named Francois (quoted with permission) wrote this to me yesterday: I have long been aware that my body has drastically altered over the last year or two. To the point that I can say that I’m experiencing a 'crossing of a Body threshold’ akin to that of teenagers ... requiring a complete revision of the first hand experience, and the [...]
